October 4th marked the first high school Emerging Chefs class in over a year - and it was a monumental moment for both our students and our newest collaborator, the Explore More Discovery Museum in downtown Harrisonburg.
Due to lack of funding, rising food prices, and the removal of kitchen spaces in Harrisonburg High School and the new Rocktown High School not having built kitchen classrooms, Emerging Chefs was indefinitely discontinued for all high school students.
But this summer, the Explore More Discovery Museum graciously offered their state of the art teaching kitchen in hopes of expanding their community impact.

In just two classes, our students have skillfully whipped up a delicious batch of cinnamon roll muffins and pumpkin spiced lattes, as well as fried rice and gyoza dumplings - our team is excited to see how their abilities expand throughout the semester!

Although we have been given this beautiful space, food prices are high and we are searching for funding - we need support from people like you.
